What this article covers: How to create custom reports in BrizoConsol — choosing a reporting period, building report rows with accounts, formulas, KPIs, and sections, and managing your custom report library.

Custom reports let you build financial views beyond the standard P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. You control the layout, the rows, and the period — combining accounts, calculated formulas, and KPIs in a single report tailored to your needs.

1. Accessing Custom Reports

Go to Reports from the left navigation, then select the Custom tab. Any previously created custom reports are listed here. Click a report name to open it, or click New Report to create one.

2. Creating a New Report

3. Reporting Period Options

The period you select determines the column structure of the report. You can change the period on any custom report at any time using the Period Selector at the top of the page.

Period Columns generated
Fiscal Year One column per month across the full fiscal year
Fiscal Year with Full Year Monthly columns plus a full-year total column
Last 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 Months One column per month for the selected rolling window
By Month / By Quarter Single month column, or a quarter with monthly breakdown
Actual vs Last Year / Forecast / Budget Comparison columns with variance $ and % generated automatically
Custom Manually defined start and end period

See Comparing Periods & Actuals vs Forecast for the full list of all 16 period options.

4. Report Row Types

Custom reports are built row by row. Each row you add can be one of the following types:

Row type What it does
Label A text-only row — use for section headings, spacers, or grouping titles with no data
Account A specific account from your chart of accounts — pulls actual values for each period column
Formula A calculated row referencing other rows — for example, Gross Margin = Revenue − Cost of Sales, or any ratio or subtotal you need
Section Groups a set of rows into an expandable/collapsible block — useful for keeping long reports clean and scannable
KPI A BrizoConsol KPI row — include any built-in or custom KPI alongside financial rows in the same report
💡 Tip: Combining Account rows with Formula rows lets you build calculated subtotals — for example, add individual revenue accounts then a Formula row for Total Revenue, followed by cost accounts and a Gross Profit formula row.

5. Managing Custom Reports

Action How to do it
Edit Open the report and click the edit icon to modify rows, period, or title
Duplicate Create a copy of an existing report as a starting point for a new variation

Custom reports support the same drill-down, filtering, and export capabilities as standard reports.
