What this article covers: How to reconcile and verify Currency Translation Adjustment (CTA) journals in BrizoConsol — reviewing auto-posted CTA journals, adding manual CTA journals, navigating by period, and confirming postings before reporting.

The CTA Reconcile & Verify page (also referred to as CTA/FCTR) shows all CTA-related journal entries for a selected period — both those automatically generated by the system during consolidation runs and any manual CTA journals entered by users. Use this page to confirm that posted CTA amounts are correct before running reports.

1. Accessing the Page

Go to Adjustments → CTA/FCTR from the left navigation. The page is a Pro feature — a subscription upgrade prompt overlays the content on Standard subscriptions.

2. Period and Scenario Selection

At the top of the page, use the Scenario and Period controls to select which period to review. The period shows the current posting month and can be changed using the dropdown or the previous/next arrow buttons on either side of the period selector.

🛈 Scenario is set at the organisation level and is shown read-only on this page. To change scenario, update it from the organisation settings.

3. Auto CTA Journals

The Auto CTA Journals table lists all system-generated CTA journal entries for the selected period. These are created automatically when CTA is posted during a consolidation run.

Column Description
The date the journal was posted.
A unique identifier for the journal entry.
The type of journal — auto CTA journals are labelled with the CTA posting type.
The group organisation to which the journal belongs.
The originating entity or system source for this journal.
A brief description of the journal entry.
The total debit and credit amounts for this journal header.
The difference between debit and credit totals. Shown in green when balanced (zero), red when out of balance.
Click Show entries to expand the row and view individual debit and credit line items — account code, description, debit and credit amounts.

Click any journal row to expand it and see the individual account line entries that make up the posting. Click again to collapse.

4. Manual CTA Journals

The Manual CTA Journals table lists CTA-type journals that have been entered manually. These supplement the auto-posted CTA entries when additional adjustments are required.

To add a manual CTA journal, click Add Manual CTA Journal in the top-right filter bar. A journal dialog opens:

1
Select a related subsidiaryCTA journals require a related subsidiary to be linked — this is mandatory and must be selected before the journal can be saved.
2
Enter description and dateProvide a description for the journal and confirm the posting date (defaults to month-end of the selected period).
3
Add debit and credit linesSelect accounts from the chart of accounts and enter amounts. At least one debit and one credit line with a positive amount are required. Debits and credits must balance.
4
Save the journalClick Save to post the manual CTA journal. It appears immediately in the Manual CTA Journals table. The journal type is recorded as CTA / Foreign Currency.
🛈 Note: Recurring journals are not supported for manual CTA journals. Each journal is a one-time entry.

5. Deleting a Journal Entry

Click the delete icon (bin) on any journal row to permanently remove it. A confirmation dialog appears before the deletion is processed. Deleting an auto CTA journal removes it from the reconciliation view — re-posting CTA from the CTA settings page will regenerate the auto entries.
